UP Board 12th Exam 2021: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the 12th class board exam has been cancelled by many states. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) also announced its final decision and cancelled the UP Board Class 12th exams 2021.
The decision was taken after a meeting was chaired by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath which was also attended by Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma and officials of the Education Department at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow.
The committee prepared by the Board of Education presented a report to the UP CM. The report suggested the cancellation of the examination and other options were also suggested for the candidates.
This year, over 26 lakh students have registered for the UP Board Class 12th exams. In the wake of COVID-19, UP Board had already cancelled the high school or Class 10th exams.
Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also cancelled its Class 12th exam. The decision was taken on Tuesday in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth,” PM Modi tweeted.
CISCE had also decided to cancel the Class 12th exams.
Besides the UP Board exam, other states board including Haryana, Rajasthan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat have cancelled Class 12 board exams.
