NEET UG 2021 Exam: Important update about medical entrance exam date; deets inside

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon start its registration process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2021). However, the NTA NEET exam date is yet to be announced.

Amid confusion about the NTA NEET 2021 registration process, the Director-General of the NTA, Vineet Joshi told NDTV on March 10 that the dates for the NTA NEET UG exam will be announced this week.


Once the application link for NTA NEET 2021 registration gets activated, aspirants can submit their application form through the official website—ntaneet.nic.in.

NEET held twice this year?

Vineet Joshi has put an end to speculations that NEET UG will not be held twice this year.

Why NEET UG Exam?

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the only medical entrance exam in India through which students can take admission to undergraduate medical programmes, including MBBS and BDS.

NEET scores will be considered during admission to medical colleges, including AIIMS and JIPMER institutes.

How to apply for NEET-UG 2021:

1. Visit the official website of NTA NEET at ntaneet.nic.in
2. Click on the link which says NEET UG exam 2021
3. Submit your details asked on the page
4. Login to fill the application form
5. Upload your document
6. Make fee payment
7. Download your application form
8. Take a printout for further purpose

NEET Exam Pattern:

NTA conducts the NEET exam through pen and paper mode. The test comprises 720 marks. The Physics and Chemistry section carries 180 marks each while Biology (Zoology and Botany) carries 360 marks. The exam is held for 180 minutes.

The medical entrance examination is held in 11 languages—English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Urdu.

Every year, over 15 lakh aspirants appear in the entrance exam.
