NEET 2018: Mamta Banerjee notifies irregularities to HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and says, ‘make proper arrangements for examination in future’

The Central Board of Secondary Education has conducted the NEET 2018 examination on 6 May 2018. This year, students have attempted the paper in the different languages also. Just before the examination, Madras High Court has directed CBSE that make some centres for Tamil Nadu students only in the state. But, later, Supreme Court discarded the petition and said that no centre re-allotment will be given to the students.

Recently, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee also raised her voice over the irregularities in the 2018 National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) examination. She brought this problem to the notice of Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar. Her reason for writing the letter to HRD Minister was that ‘Bengali students were not provided with the question papers in their language in time.’

In a letter, she wrote that ‘Many students were provided photocopies of question papers which contains the same candidate code for multiple students.’ She also claimed that some students were also forced to write the answers only using English and Hindi question papers.

WB CM decided to write a letter when she comes to know that there were only 520 question papers in Bengali for 600 candidates at Cossipore Central School in Kolkata. According to her, a similar case was reported at Techno India School at Konnagar in Hooghly district.

Mamta also urged to Prakash Javadekar that he should take some immediate action against such irregularities during the examination.

She also said that there should be coordination between the state government and CBSE for making the proper arrangement while conducting the exam in future.
