KVS Admission 2022: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has revised its guidelines for KVS Admission 2022-23. KVS has already released the guidelines for admissions to classes 1 to 12. Candidates who are planning to apply for the KVS admission can check the guidelines available at kvsangathan.nic.in.
Earlier, admission criteria for class 1 were challenged in Delhi High Court after a plea was filed to increase the age limit for students seeking admission.
With newly revised guidelines, KVS has increased the age limit for Class 1 admissions to 6 years. Earlier, the age limit for class 1 was 5 years. Due to the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the age limit for Class 1 has now been increased to 6 years.
For differently-abled students, there will an age relaxation of two years. While the age limit for the remaining classes will remain the same.
Candidates who are willing to take admissions to class 11 must note that there will be no age relaxation for them if they are seeking admission in the same year when they have appeared or passed the Class 10 examination. Also, there will be no upper or lower age limit for Class 12 students who have cleared the Class 11 exam in the same year and has no gap between the two classes.
Also, KVS has scrapped the Member of Parliament, MP quota for admissions.
