J&K: Good news! These districts of North Kashmir to get its first government medical college; details inside

It must be a piece of good news for the medical students in Jammu and Kashmir who have to migrate to other states to pursue the medical courses. Because the North Kashmir’s districts like Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara soon to get a first government medical college and other facilities.

This medical college will not only give benefits to these three districts of North Kashmir as other region candidates would also utilize the medical facilities.


 

 

However, the construction of the college is underway and now, it will soon to inaugurate for the locals once it gets completed.

The government medical college would cater for around 1.70 lakh population of North Kashmir.

As per the reports of ANI, Dr. Javed Choudhary, principal of Govt Medical College, Baramulla said, “staff recruitment will be done on different levels. We'll hopefully start a 1st batch of 100 MBBS students from June 2019, as soon as we get 'letter of permission'. Students will be selected from the Common Entrance Test”.

 

Moreover, the Union government has given the green signal for the constructions of medical colleges in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir i.e. Anantnag, Baramulla, Kathua, Rajouri and Doda.

The construction of Baramulla government medical college is being constructed under the Jammu Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC).
