Karauli (Rajasthan): The people of Karauli are eagerly waiting for the full budget to be presented on July 10. The interim budget presented a few months ago did not bring any significant benefits to the people of Karauli. Now, people are pinning their hopes on the full budget to fulfil their long-standing demands. Education is one area where people are expecting significant development.

During a talk show organised on Monday, intellectuals discussed their expectations from the budget. Former Additional District Education Officer Govind Prasad Sharma emphasised the need for a separate educational complex in Karauli district headquarters. He also demanded a new building for the Senior Girls' School and a model school for girls. Sharma also highlighted the need for English medium schools and the expansion of the Boys' School building.

Former CEO Ram Khiladi Meena pointed out that rural schools lack basic facilities like electricity, water, and proper buildings. He demanded that the government allocate a budget for these facilities. Meena also emphasised the need to fill vacant posts in schools and colleges.

Venugopal Sharma, former Library President, lamented the lack of development in education in Karauli district over the past 50 years. He demanded that the government allocate a budget for an engineering college in Karauli, grant university status to the government college, and fill vacant faculty posts.

Former Education Officer Dwarika Prasad emphasised the need to fill vacant posts in colleges, including MSC, Physics, Chemistry, and LLB. He said that granting university status to the college would be a significant step forward for education in Karauli.

Former Principal Purushottam Sharma demanded that all education department offices be brought under one roof. He criticised the administration and public representatives for their apathy towards education development in Karauli district headquarters. Sharma also highlighted the need for furniture and fourth-class employees in schools and PG courses in colleges.

The talk show was organised to discuss the expectations from the budget. The intellectuals present at the show urged the government to take concrete steps to develop education in Karauli district.
