Good News! Modi government to release over 84,000 vacancies in Central Armed Police Forces; read details

It will be good news for the aspirants who are waiting to join Indian Army jobs as Modi government is likely to announce over 84,000 vacancies for various posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

As per the reports of PTI, “over 84,000 posts out of the sanctioned strength of 9,99,795 are lying vacant in the Central Armed Police Forces,” the government said Tuesday.


Government officials also added that expeditious steps have been taken to fill the vacant seats.

Positions that will be filled under this huge recruitment drive are as follow:

  • Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  • Border Security Force (BSF)
  • Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
  • Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
  • Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
  • Assam Rifles (AR)

Reson behind this huge vacant seats:

Home Ministry said vacancies are arising in Indian forces due to the retirement, death and voluntary retirement, Centre said in a written reply to Lok Sabha.

Ministry also added that on an average of at least 10 percent of vacancies arise every year in different departments and grades, therefore, there is a well-established procedure to fill up the vacancies. Meanwhile, there are 84,037 vacanies to be filled soon.

Some urgent most steps have taken by the Government to fill up the vacancies in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including other posts created.

Vacancies released by the government in previous years:

Earlier in 2017, Government announced a total of 57,268 vacancies of Constable (general duty-GD) that was conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

In 2018, the recruitment drive was released for the position of Constable (GD) and a total of 58,373 vacancies released by the SSC.

For Assistant Commandant (GD), UPSC released 466 vacancies and conducted written examination.

The Commission has selected a total of 1,412 candidates for interview or personality test.

Ministry also added that ‘a notification for Assistant Commandant (GD) Exam, 2019 has since been published for filling up of 323 vacancies.’
