Farmers’ children who wanted to pursue higher education but due to a financial condition they are unable to acquire the education, then, good news for such students. The Odisha government has decided to provide financial help to farmers’ children via a scholarship programme.
Recently, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a scholarship programme under KALIA, Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation on Sunday (3rd February 2019). This scheme will only be awarded to the farmers in Odisha.
He also tweeted, 'The Chief Minister said that the KALIA Scholarship will be provided to the students for undertaking several professional courses in government-run colleges across the State.'

Therefore, aspirants who are planning to go for the higher education will get the benefits of the scholarship, 'KALIA Chhatra Bruti'.
The scheme has been announced at farmers' congregation in Keonjhar district.
Odisha CM Patnaik also said that the government has launched the 'KALIA Chhatra Bruti' scholarship programme so as to provide the financial help to the farmers’ children and for their future.

Under the scheme, there will be financial help given to farmers for the cultivation on an amount of Rs 10,000 per family will be given at the rate of Rs 5,000 each for the Kharif and Rabi season.
Besides, landless households will be provided Rs 12,500 to take up activities like goat rearing units, duckery units, mini layer units fishery kits for fishermen and women, mushroom cultivation and beekeeping.
