CBSE Board Exam 2021: Exam Postponed! Big relief for Class 10th, 12th board students amid surge in COVID-19 cases

Days after board students pleas to cancel the CBSE Class 10th, 12th board exams, the government on Tuesday announced to postponed Class 12th board examinations while class 10th examination is cancelled.

As per the latest updates, CBSE will not conduct the class 10th board examination this year, therefore, students will be promoted based on an internal assessment.


CBSE has cancelled the Class 12th examinations till May 30. The board will issue a revised schedule for Class 12th board exams on June 1.

The announcement was taken after a high-level meeting between CBSE and Modi government today.

The meeting was attended by Pokhriyal, Education Secretary, and other government officials.

As per the previous schedule, the board exams for classes 10th, 12th were scheduled from May 7 to June 7, 2021. While results were supposed to be announced by mid-July.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, over lakh petitions have been sent by students, teachers, and parents to the government to reconsider its decision to hold CBSE 10th and 12th board exams. Also, the hashtag cancel board exams 2021 was trending on Twitter.

Earlier, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also urged Centre to cancel board exams due to the rise in coronavirus cases.
