CBSE Class 12th Board Exam 2021: Big update for Class 12th Board students that no exams will be held this year for CBSE and CISCE. The final decision was announced after a high-profile meeting held by PM Modi and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar and Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh.

After the meeting, PM Modi also tweeted, “Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth.”

As of now, the new criteria for assessment will be released by CBSE and CISCE for the 12th board result. The government said that it will be a “well-defined”, “objective” method that will ensure timely results.

According to reports, CISCE and CBSE schools will submit data of class 12 student’s performance in classes 11, 10, and 9. Therefore, expectations have been made that Class 12th marks would be calculated on the basis of performance in internals and past three-year performance of students. However, the final decision is yet to be announced.

In the high-profile meeting, it was also decided that if any students want to appear for the exam, an option would be provided to them by CBSE, as and when the COVID-19 situation becomes normal.
