Sagar: A career fair was organized at the Prime Minister's College of Excellence Government College Makronia, where 12 companies participated and provided job opportunities to 38 students.
The event, which was part of the Swami Vivekananda Career Guidance Scheme, was attended by around 300 unemployed youth who had registered for the fair.
However, not all of them were selected. The participating companies conducted interviews and selected the eligible candidates.
Apart from the job fair, an exhibition was also organised, where products made by inmates of the central jail, Ayush Department, Post Office, Sedmap, District Industry Center, District Employment Office, and other government organizations and colleges were showcased.
The stalls provided information to the students about various activities related to the departments.
The chief guest, MLA Pradeep Lariya, emphasized the importance of skills and said that in today's modern era, a degree is of no value without skills.
The college principal, Dr. GS Rohit, and Jan Bhagidari Samiti President Dharmendra Rathore also expressed their views on the occasion.
The program was conducted by Dr. Divya Guru. Dr. Ajay Singh Thakur proposed the vote of thanks.
The in-charge of the fair, RC Prajapati, provided information about various companies to the students.
The event aimed to provide a platform to the students to explore various career opportunities and get employed.
