Bihar STET Exam 2019 New Update: BSEB likely to conduct STET exam before 10th, 12th board exams

Bihar government has decided to give some relaxation for B.Ed. aspirants who want to become government teachers for 9th to 12th classes. As per the reports, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will give 10 years of age relaxation to aspirants who want to apply for the STET exam.

According to the reports of jagran.com, Secondary Education Director Giriwar Dayal Singh has also sent a letter to the Bihar School Examination Board about this decision.

After this major change in the eligibility criteria, the maximum age limit for General category is 47 years. Whereas for the OBC category and female aspirants, the age limit is 50 years and for SC-ST candidates, the maximum age limit has increased to 52 years.

Because of new changes, BSEB is likely to conduct re-start the registration process for the STET exam. As per the reports, STET exam will be done for the appointment of 25270 vacanct seats for 9th, 10th class teachers while for Class 11th and class 12th, 12065 vacancies will be filled.

LPA filed in Patna High Court:

Earlier, Bihar government had filed an LPA (Letter Patent Appeal) in Patna High Court against the decision to give age relaxation to aspirants through Law department. As per the reports of jagran.com, the education department officials that now this LPA will be withdrawn from the court.

Patna High court’s single bench has given its verdict in this matter that since 2011, the STET exam has not been conducted therefore, candidates should be given the minimum age relaxation of 8 years.

As per the reports doing the rounds, BSEB will conduct the STET exam before Bihar board class 10th, 12th board exams which will be held in the month of February/March 2020.
