Sikar (Rajasthan): In the first round of seat allocation of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling, a total of 59,917 seats in 121 IIT-NIT colleges have been allocated. Students who have been allocated a seat in any college in the first round must report online by 5 pm on June 24. According to experts, due to 20% female quota allocation, 24,312 rank holders have been allocated to the interdisciplinary branch of IIT Dharwad.

Similarly, under the gender-neutral pool quota, seats have been allocated in NIT Mizoram's maths and computing branch and mechanical branch. In IIT Bombay, the closing rank for the CS branch has gone up to 421. Last year, girls with a rank of 291 got the CS branch in IIT Bombay. This year, the closing ranks in the top 7 IITs for the female quota are 556 in Delhi, 757 in Madras, 1117 in Kanpur, 1579 in Kharagpur, 1697 in Roorkee, 1809 in Hyderabad, and 2095 in Guwahati.

Online Reporting Process

During online reporting, students must first download their initial seat allocation information slip. Then, they need to choose their counselling options (freeze, float, or slide) to proceed to the next round of counselling. Students need to upload required documents, including 10th and 12th mark sheets, caste certificates, and medical certificates. The final step is to pay the seat acceptance fee, which can be done through debit card, credit card, net banking, or SBI challan. The fee is Rs 35,000 for general, EWS, and OBC categories, and Rs 17,500 for SC-ST and physically disabled students.

State of Eligibility Proof

Students who have chosen NIT colleges in JoSAA counselling need to upload their 12th board pass certificate or mark sheet as proof of eligibility. Those who have only chosen IIT colleges do not need to provide this proof.

Open-Round Allocation

In the first round of seat allocation, all students have been allocated seats based on their college preference list, first on the basis of open rank, and then based on category rank.
