In a latest development coming in from the national capital, a woman was brutally injured and raped on the pretext of providing a job in Delhi’s Dwarka, said police on Monday.
According to officials information obtained by Delhi Police, the culprit, Ankit Sehrawat, called the woman to a hotel on Saturday in Dwarka on the pretext of providing a job to her.
"The woman told us that she was forced to drink alcohol when she got to the hotel. Later, the accused raped her and also attempted to asphyxiate her. The accused even injured her face by hitting her. The victim suffered injuries on her face," police said.
Furthermore, police said that the accused even tried to murder the victim and locked her inside the room.
Subsequent to the horrific incident, the accused ran away from the crime spot and the victim approached Dwarka, Sector-9 Police Station.
"We immediately got to the crime spot and found that the main entrance of the hotel was locked and the victim was crying in the balcony of the second floor. Nobody opened the door, so it had to be broken with a stone to enter the hotel," police said.
Later, the victim was sent to the hospital for medical and an FIR has been registered against the accused on Sunday.
The hotel Manager has been taken into police custody who hadn’t authorized the cops to get inside the hotel premises, said the Delhi Police.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
