In yet another incident of crime against women and female children in the country, a 15-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped for one year in the national capital.
The minor victim has registered a police complaint at Barakhamba Road police station and identified the accused as Himanshu.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, she was raped by the accused for one year starting August 2020. The victim in her complaint mentioned that the accused first raped her at Connaught Place’s Kohli Frame Art Gallery, as per report in Times of India. The victim stated that she was intoxicated when the accused took advantage of her.
Furthermore, the minor victim alleged that she was repeatedly raped by the accused at several locations including Dwarka and Badarpur.
The police have charged the accused under Section 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The cops have taken the accused into their custody following an investigation in the case. The accused has been sent to police custody after he was taken before a local court.
The latest National Crimes Records Bureau (NCRB) data displays that the national capital had logged the most number of crimes against women among all metropolitan cities in India.
