Yuvraj Singh is all set to play in a foreign T20 league after he announced his retirement from international cricket and the Indian Premier League. Yuvraj Singh was bought by Toronto Nationals as its marquee player for the upcoming season starting from July 25.
“For all #YuvrajSingh fans! ??#TorontoNationals get @YUVSTRONG12 for #GT2019,” Toronto Nationals said on social media.
Yuvraj Singh held a media session to announce his retirement and also mentioned that he would want to play cricket in other countries if BCCI gives him permission to do so.
“He wrote to the board yesterday. I don't see an issue in him getting the nod to play in overseas leagues now that he has retired from international cricket and IPL,” a BCCI source had told the PTI.
The World Cup-winning all-rounder will play against some former cricketers and some current international players. Yuvraj Singh will share the dressing room with Kieron Pollard and Brendon McCullum and will play against former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, South Africa captain Faf du Plessis, Shakib Al Hasan, Andre Russell, Wahab Riaz, Sunil Narine amongst others.
Delhi Capitals’ Sandeep Lamichhane and Trent Boult will also share the dressing room with Yuvraj Singh along with Indian pacer Manpreet Gony.
