The Indian Premier League is the richest cricketing tournament in the world and is organised by the wealthiest cricket board – BCCI. Thus the cricketers are paid a hefty amount for their contracts in the IPL compared to other T20 leagues.
Those who have played in all 11 seasons of the IPL, two players have crossed the 100 crore mark in terms of gross earnings combined. Three time champions MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma are the two players who have achieved the milestone.
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni occupy the top-spot with 107.8 crore as salary from the two teams (CSK and Rising Pune Supergiants) he played for. While his counterpart and team India colleague Rohit Sharma has earned 106.1 crore as salary from the two teams (Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers) he played for and thus occupy the second spot.
Apart from these two players, 17 have earned more than 50 crore after 11 seasons of the tournament. Gautam Gambhir is third on the chart with net income of 94.6 crore from his stint at Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils. Virat Kohli grabbed the fourth position with 92.2 crore as he represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in all 11 seasons.
At No.5 is Indian veteran, Yuvraj Singh. He has been paid a total sum of Rs 83.6 crore by the IPL teams he has been a part of over the years. Other names that feature in the top 10 are Suresh Raina (Rs 77.7 crore), AB de Villiers (Rs 69.5 crore), Shane Watson (Rs 69.1 crore), Robin Uthappa (Rs 65.8 crore) and Shikhar Dhawan (Rs 59.7 crore).
