World Cup champions England breaks 72-year old shameful record against Australia in Ashes

Australia ripped off England in the third Ashes Test after they dismissed them all-out for 67 runs in the first innings at Headingley. This was England’s lowest Test score against Australia since 1948. Australia was bundled out for 179 runs in their first innings after England won the toss and elected to bowl first. England was then dismissed all-out for the lowest ever total in Test against Australia after 72-years.

For England, Joe Denly was the only batsman to score a double-digit score. Denly was dismissed by James Pattinson for 12 runs just 12 runs. England skipper Joe Root was dismissed for a duck for the second time in the series. Former English cricketer Geoffery Boycott has even asked the 28-year old batsman to quit captaincy.

Josh Hazlewood for Australia took a five-wicket haul. Hazlewood registered a bowling figure of 5-30 from 12.5 overs. Pat Cummins also took three wickets from the 9 overs he bowled. Australia has taken a lead of 112 runs after the first innings. If Australia wins this match they will be the favorites to win the series and retain the urn.
