When Navjot Singh Sidhu had to apologise to Yuvraj Singh and his father for this comment

Birthday boy Yuvraj Singh once revealed that Navjot Singh Sidhu had criticised him a lot when he was a child. Yuvraj to the interviewer said that his father Yograj Singh sent him for practice at Navjot Singh’s house while Navjot was playing for India. Four days later Navjot called Yuvraj’s father and said that your son lacks the talent to become a cricketer, to which Yograj called his son and said pack your bags and I will see who will stop you from becoming a cricketer.

After that when Navjot Singh saw Yuvraj getting selected for the U-19 camp held in Patiala, Punjab, he went to Yograj and withdrew his remark he made about Yuvraj. Yuvraj later went on to play for India and was part of the World Cup winning team in 2011. He was also the vice-captain of the Indian ODI team between 2007-2008. Yuvraj was awarded the Man of the Tournament in 2011 World Cup and played an important part in 2007 T20 World Cup, both of which India won.

He famously hit six sixes in an over bowled by England’s Stuart Broad in the ICC 2007 World T20, a feat performed only three times previously in any form of senior cricket and never in an international match between two Test playing nations.

In 2011, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his left lung during the World Cup in which he was awarded the Man of the Tournament award

In 2012, Yuvraj was conferred with the Arjuna Award, India's second highest sporting award by the Government of India. In 2014, he was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour.
