After the passing away of BJP’s stalwart leader and former finance minister Arun Jaitley condolences have started pouring in from all corner of the world. From opposition leaders to foreign envoys to even cricketers, everyone is mourning the demise of Arun Jaitley.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag paid his heartfelt tributes to the leader. Sehwag shared a story of how Jaitley helped him and other cricketers during his tenure as Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) president.
Sehwag shared an anecdote where he narrated how Jaitley helped him by giving his official bungalow at 9 Ashok Road to hold his wedding. Jaitley was not using the bungalow as his official residence at that time. Sehwag and his wife Aarti got married at the house in 2004.
“Pained at the passing away of #ArunJaitley ji. Apart from having served greatly in public life, he played a huge role in many players from Delhi getting an opportunity to represent India. There was a time when not many players from Delhi got a chance at the highest level,” Sehwag wrote on his official Twitter handle.
“But under his leadership at the DDCA, many players including me got a chance to represent India. He listened to needs of the players & was a problem solver. Personally shared a very beautiful relationship with him. My thoughts & prayers are with his family & loved ones. Om Shanti,” Sehwag added.
