Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni got lucky against West Indies when he survived what would have been his third ODI stumping. West Indies wicket-keeper Shai Hope gave MS Dhoni another chance to fight as he first missed a stumping and then a run-out.
The incident happened in the 34th over when spinner Fabien Allen was called in to bowl and Shai Hope gave it up. Hope had two chances to dismiss Dhoni on the same ball as the batsman was way down the pitch but Hope lost it. The bizarre show of hope gave Indian fans a sigh of relief and Dhoni another chance to live.

Dhoni faced a lot of criticism in the previous game against Afghanistan where he played a very slow inning and was dismissed on Rashid Khan’s delivery. Dhoni was stumped by Afghanistan wicket-keeper which was just the second stumping of Dhoni’s ODI career. The first time was against West Indies in 2011 World Cup.
Dhoni is playing another slow inning against West Indies and might face the wrath of Indian fans again on social media. After the Afghanistan match, Sachin Tendulkar also criticised MS Dhoni and his partnership with Kedar Jadhav.
