The International Cricket Council (ICC) anti-corruption unit is currently investigating Ajman All Stars League, a private T20 cricket tournament in UAE after a video of the match appeared on social media which face criticism from all over the world.
The players in the footage are seen getting out one by one in absolute ridiculous way. The match was between Dubai Stars and Sharjah Warriors which witnessed shoddy dismissal – run-outs and stumpings.
Sharjah Warriors batting first put up a healthy total of 136 runs on scoreboard, Dubai Stars needed 137 runs to win but what happened next will blow your mind. Dubai Stars batsmen made it seem like the entire play was scripted and were bundled out for 46.
A couple of batsmen were seen charging down the wicket, displaying carelessness to make it back to the crease, while run-outs also happened in similar manner. The bizarre nature of dismissals raised questions on social media.
Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen was also surprised and it seems he was laughing out loud after watching the video.
