Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant had a distressful game behind the stumps as India lost by seven wickets against Bangladesh in the first T20I match on Sunday.

First, poor running between the wickets from the youngster cost Shikhar Dhawan his wicket and then the men in blue lost a review at a crucial stage because Pant thought there was a edge.

During the 10th over of Bangladesh’s batting, Rishabh Pant persuaded skipper Rohit Sharma to opt for a DRS as the wicket of Soumya Sarkar was vital at the moment. Rohit Sharma put under an obligation went for the review but it was a wrong call. The ultraedge displayed a flat line as ball went past the bat.

The men in blue should have opted for a review earlier in that over bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal but they did not.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who played an unbeaten knock of 60, missed and was hit around leg stump, it was the review that Rohit should have opted for.

During that situation of extensive pressure, skipper Rohit Sharma decided to stay calm and just smiled at Rishabh Pant.

Bangladesh team won the toss and put India to bat first, India put up 148/6 in stipulated 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan topped the scorecard for India with 41 runs.

Bangladesh, riding on Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten 60 chased down the target with three balls to spare. This was Bangladesh’s first ever win against India.

After the match, Rohit Sharma agreed that the review call was a mistake and the team was not good enough in the field.

"The reviews were a mistake from our side, not to talk about it at least, and the first ball he played on the back foot, we thought it was going down leg, and the next one on the front foot, but we forgot how short he is! We weren't up to the mark on the field, but batting-wise I think we put up a competitive score. Chahal was always welcomed into this format. He's crucial to this team, and he showed how important he is in the middle overs, when the batsmen are set. He completely understands what he needs to execute, and that makes it a little easier for the captain as well," Rohit said.
