As far as the match is concerned, Shikhar Dhawan played an amazing innings as he scored 97 runs off 63 balls. Dhawan remained not-out but he couldn’t reach the three figure mark as he was more concerned about the team’s victory rather than thinking about his personal milestone, he said after they won the match.
Dhawan have never scored a Twenty20 international or an Indian Premier League century and as he said he doesn’t care as far as his team is on the winning side. Prithvi Shaw scored 14 runs off 7 balls before he was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna when Shaw struck a thick edge which went straight into the wicket-keeper’s glove.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer was dismissed by Andre Russell for just 6 runs before the first power-play ended. Colin Ingram finished the game with Shikhar Dhawan as he hit 14 runs off just 6 balls, which included 1 six and 1 four. Delhi Capitals won their first match at Eden Gardens since 2012 as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets.
