Ben Stokes took arguably the most astonishing catch of Indian Premier League season 12, fielding for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings. The incident happened in the sixth over when Kedar Jadhav tried to play a shot off side where Stokes was standing at point to pluck the ball out of the air.
Chennai Super Kings were three wickets down for 24 runs and the pressure was building. That is when Kedar Jadhav slashed the ball off side in Jofra Archer’s over to give a catch to Stokes. Everyone on the field was in awe of the catch including the fans in the stadium.

The home team were amazing on the field with their spectacular fielding skills. Earlier in the match Rahul Tripathi pulled off a class catch when he covered a lot of ground to dismiss South African skipper Faf du Plessis. Shreyas Gopal also took an amazing catch to dismiss CSK’s set batsman Ambati Rayudu when he sprinted backwards to pull off the catch.
Chennai Super Kings went on to win the match as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets to win their third consecutive match. The game was full of ups and downs as it saw a no-ball controversy and MS Dhoni loosing his cool at umpires. But it ended with Dhoni’s 100th victory in IPL as captain. Ravindra Jadeja also took his 100th IPL wicket after he dismissed Steve Smith in the 11th over.
