Australian opener Aaron Finch was bagged by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 4.4 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2020. Kolkata Knight Riders and RCB indulged in a bidding was for Finch, but was eventually bought by RCB.
The 33-year-old, who featured for Kings XI Punjab in the last edition, has earlier played for various teams, which includes, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions.
This will be the first time that Finch would be seen in RCB’s jersey. As it happened, this was just a conversation that took place between Finch and Australian skipper Tim Paine during the Boxing Day Test against India last year. The conversation happened when Rohit Sharma was batting, with Finch and Pain on the field.
In the video shared by Cricket Australia on their official twitter handle after the IPL auction. In the video, the Australian skipper was caught on the stump mic asking Finch if he has played for every IPL team. “Too many Poms now at the (Rajasthan) Royals. You have played for every team now?”
Finch in reply, stated: “Except Bangalore.” Paine went on: “Haven’t you got there? Maybe Virat does’t like you.” In response, Finch stated: “No one likes me, that’s why I keep moving.”

Furthermore, RCB shared an official clip on their twitter handle, in which the Australian expressed his thanks to RCB for buying him. “Hi guys, obviously very excited to join Bangalore this year. Very honoured to been selected by them at the auctions. Can’t wait to get there meet all the players, the staff and the fans. Thank you very much,” he said in the video.
