Wasim Jaffer achieved yet another record in the history of Ranji Trophy. Jaffer who recently became the first player to reach 11,000 runs. Jaffer is also the only person to have 10,000 plus runs, the second highest run-getter in the tournament’s history.
Jaffer has played 130 first class matches for Mumbai scoring 10,585 runs at an average of 58.48, before shifting base to Vidarbha in 2015-16 season. For Vidarbha, he has so far scored 1583 runs at an average of over 48.
Jaffer made his Test debut for India in 2000 against South Africa in a home series. Jaffer has so far played 31 Tests matches for India and scored 1,944 runs at an average of 34.10 with the highest score of 212.
Today, Wasim Jaffer became the most capped player in Ranji Trophy history. Jaffer on Monday appeared in his 146th Ranji match. Before Jaffer, Madhya Pradesh’s Devendra Bundela held this record with 145 matches.
