Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram slammed Pakistan cricket team for eating biryani before the start of the World Cup. Akram was angry because the Pakistani players were not concerned about their diet and are eating junk food before a crucial tournament.
Pakistani cricketers are often seen attending parties and ‘daawats’ where they are feasted with all kinds of meals. The 2019 World Cup is round the corner and every team is expected to look after their fitness and diet. Pakistan cricket team is ofter regarded as one of the most unfit team in the cricketing world and former captain Wasim Akram was rightly worried about that.

Wasim Akram said, “Players are still being served biryani, you cannot compete against champions by feeding them biryani.” Wasim is not the only one worried about their fitness, the cricket team was criticised after they poorly fielded against Australia in a recently concluded ODI series in UAE.
The former pacer also added that he sees a future captain in Mohammad Amir. This comes as a surprising statement as Mohammad Amir’s place in the team is under scrutiny after his poor performance with the ball.
The 2019 Cricket World Cup will take place in England and Wales. The tournament starts from May 30 and the first match is between the host England and South Africa. Pakistan will play their first match against West Indies on May 31. Pakistan will play their arch rival India on June 16, it is arguably the most awaited match of the tournament.
