Virender Sehwag sends two-line resume for India coach job; BCCI demands details

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag applied for the position of team coach and sent in a two-line application. He has been persuaded to submit a full resume by the Indian cricket board.

In his application, Sehwag only wrote that he is a ‘mentor and a coach of Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and has played with all these (Indian) boys before’.

An official of BCCI has informed that there was no cv attached to the application.

“Sehwag being Sehwag has sent his application in two lines. There was no CV attached to it. We had to ask him to send his CV too along with his application. After all it will be the first time he is set to appear for the interview,” The Indian Express quoted a source in the BCCI as saying.

The one year tenure of present India coach Anil Kumble will come to end after the conclusion of ongoing Champions Trophy.

Other applicants for the post are former Australian fast bowler Tom Moody (Sunrisers Hyderabad coach), Englishman Richard Pybus, Lalchand Rajput and former India cricketers Dodda Ganesh.

While Kumble has not received an extension for his term, it is believed that he will have to appear once again in front of the BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) consisting of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, and VVS Laxman.
