The Indian cricketing circle is doing its bit to accumulate support and rally behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of switching off lights for 9 minutes at 9pm today to mark the national fight against the coronavirus.
Indian cricketing stars such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya tweeted in support of the initiative which the Prime Minister set forth on 3rd April.
"The power of the stadium is in its fans. The spirit of India is in its people. Tonight 9pm for 9min. Let’s show the world, we stand as ONE. Let’s show our Health Warriors, We stand behind them. Team India - IGNITED," Kohli tweeted on Sunday.
"Team India, we cant get this prescription wrong. Our life depends on winning this test match. Show your solidarity, join us in The Great Team India Huddle today 5th April 9pm for 9min. Light to Fight. Are you with me?" Rohit tweeted.

PM Modi appealed to Indians under lockdown to switch off all lights at home at 9 pm on Sunday and light candles or diyas or use the flashlights on their mobile phones for nine minutes.
"At that time, if you have turned off all the lights of your homes, and each one of us in all directions has lit a diya, we will experience the superpower of light, clearly illuminating the common purpose we are all fighting for," PM Modi said.
The Prime Ministers statement came during his first address to the nation after declaring a nationwide 21-days lockdown in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the virus causes a respiratory illness that is possibly life threatening, it has already claimed over 57,000 lives worldwide, including 77 in India.
The nationwide lockdown started on 24 March and is slated to finish on 14th April.
