Regardless of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in full swing, an old video clip off Indian skipper Virat Kohli getting an award for his showing in a Test match has left the internet in frenzy. The clip that has been making rounds on Twitter first surfaced in 2019.
The short video displays the Indian skipper being handed a trophy for his superb knock of 136, a knock that helped India register an innings defeat over Bangladesh in the first ever day/night Test match in Eden Gardens.
Awarded Pepsi Swag Player of the match, the 32-year-old shakes hands with the presenter at the presentation ceremony before reminding him to hand him his accolade. Finding the episode funny, Kohli looks at the camera and titters while striking a pose.
Twitter users, while coming across second-hand embarrassment, had many things to say.

Returning to IPL 2021 in UAE, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captained by Virat Kohli got the better of Mumbai Indians on Sunday where the latter won the tie by 54 runs.
As RCB in due course secured victory comfortably and Harshal Patel’s three wickets haul was a sight to lay eyes on. It was perhaps Glenn Maxwell’s show that caught the eyes of those who turned in to the previous clash. The vicious all-rounder’s brilliant fifty was a dominant one, one that made him look like he was a left-hander. Yes there were a lot of reverse hits.
The conquest also sailed the RCB to fourth spot on the points table as Kohli sets his sight on first ever title before retirement.
