Indian skipper Virat Kohli received a special gift from a fan in Guwahati before the first T20I between India and Sri lanka later this evening. The fan came face to face with the Indian captain and presented him a portrait, which he made using old and discarded mobile phones and wire.
The fan (Rahul), later revealed that it took him 3 days and 3 nights to complete the portrait. The Indian skipper saw the portrait and even went on to signed it after meeting the fan.
The video of the entire chapter was recorded and shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on its official social media handle.
"Portrait of @virat.kohli using old phones. How is this for fan love!" the BCCI wrote.
India and Sri Lanka are all set to be at loggerheads in their first game of the New Year and the first of the three T20I series at the Barsapara cricket stadium in Guwahati.
The match will also mark the return of two key players in the Indian squad- Shikhar Dhawan and Jasprit Bumrah. With Rohit Sharma rested for the T20I series, the focus will now be on Dhawan who is under a fair amount of pressure when it comes to keeping his place in the shortest form of the game after a run-of-the-mill 2019 when he scored only 272 runs from 12 T20Is.
