Former Australian cricketer and spin legend Shane Warne said that Virat Kohli is the best leader in the world but he is not a good tactical captain. In an interview to NDTV, he picked Australian Test captain Tim Paine and New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson as the two best tactical captain.
“I think he is the best leader of the team at the moment. There is a difference between captaincy, tactics and the leader of the team. I am a huge Virat Kohli fan. I think he is great for the game of cricket. He leads his team so well. Tactically it's very hard to split. I think Tim Paine, Kane Williamson from New Zealand are very good tactically as well. So I think it's very hard to say if there are any standout captains but I would say the best leader of men at the moment is definitely Virat Kohli,” NDTV quoted Warne as saying.
Warne also backed former team India captain MS Dhoni for 2019 Cricket World Cup and said that India need the experience of the 37-year-old in the 50-over tournament. Warne picked India and hosts England as the favourites to win the World Cup.
Shane Warne is currently promoting the new jersey of his former Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan Royals will don the new pink jersey in the 2019 IPL edition.
