Indian captain Virat Kohli is missing his teammate Hardik Pandya and wants him back in the team. The Indian all-rounder was suspended from playing cricket after his sexist comment on women went viral from a TV show.
Virat Kohli stressed on India’s compulsion to play a third pacer and played Vijay Shankar, because if an all-rounder can chip in with few overs of seam up, then you don’t necessarily need a guy bowling 140kmph as the third bowler along with the two fast bowlers.
Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were sent home mid-tour from Australia after the controversy broke out in media. KL Rahul played two Tests but gave a poor streak of performances while Hardik Pandya didn’t play any game.
The Virat Kohli-led ODI team won their first ever bilateral series in Australia by 2-1 on January 18. Earlier this month, India also became the first Asian team to win a Test series on Australian soil, India won the series by 2-1 and this was their first win in Australia in their 71 year of cricket history.
India will now play New Zealand in a five-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series starting from January 23.
