Team India left for England and Wales to play the biggest 50-over tournament in the world. The men in blue are going as one of the favorites into the World Cup with Australia, Pakistan and host England. Before leaving for England, Indian skipper Virat Kohli along with coach Ravi Shastri addressed a press conference.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) uploaded few pictures of players waiting at the airport. The Indian team can be seen sporting shirt, tie and navy blue blazer which is an unusual sight for everyone because they often leave in track pants and t-shirts. This time around they were officially leaving for World Cup and as the tradition goes they are supposed to wear formals.
The pictures shared by the BCCI shows players sitting together, some are having chat while others are busy with their gadget. In a picture, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya can be seen having a serious discussion while MS Dhoni and Yuzvendra Chahal can be seen playing video game. In another picture, Mohammed Shami and Bhuveneshwar Kumar are also busy with their tablets while Shikhar Dhawan can be seen posing for the camera.
The World Cup this time will be played in round-robin format unlike previous editions. Each team will play nine matches against one another until they qualify for the playoffs. The tournament starts from May 30 and India will play their first match on June 5.
