Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s post sparked a rumour online after he shared a picture with MS Dhoni that everybody thought is a retirement tribute for the former Indian cricketer. Kohli on Saturday, cleared what was on his mind when he posted the picture.
Kohli said, “Mere zehen mein kuch naahi thaa yaar (I had nothing in my mind). I was sitting at home and I normally put out a photograph and it became a news item.”
“I think it was a lesson for me, that the way I think, the whole world does not think that way. There was nothing in farthest stretch of my imagination (that it could be taken as retirement tribute) while putting that picture out on social media," the skipper added.
Speculations about MS Dhoni’s retirement started doing rounds right after the World Cup when he announced that he was going to serve in the Indian Army. Dhoni took a two-month break from international cricket to serve in the Indian Army.
Virat Kohli and the Indian team will next be seen playing against South Africa. India and South Africa will play a bilateral series starting from September 15.
