Indian captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane broke Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly’s record of most 100-run partnership for the 4th wicket for India in Test. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane with their 104 run partnership stand on Day 3 of the first Test broke Tendulkar and Ganguly’s record of 7 hundred run partnership for the 4th wicket.
Kohli and Rahane’s 104 run partnership stand was their 8th for the 4th wicket and 9th overall. Rahane and Kohli also became the first Indian pair to have made a 100 run partnership at Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Kohli and Rahane put India in a commanding position with their hundred run partnership stand on Day 3 of the first Test. India now has a lead of 260 runs with 7 wickets in hand.
Rahane top-scored for his side in the first innings with 81 run will resume his second innings on Day 4 at 53 runs. While Kohli who was dismissed for just 9 runs in the first innings will resume his second innings on 51.
India scored 297 runs in its first innings after West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and asked Virat Kohli to bat. In reply, West Indies managed to score 222 runs before they were bundled out.
