Former co-owner of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Vijay Mallya took a sly dig at Virat Kohli and his team. Vijay Mallya criticised the team for having a great line up but performing poorly in the Indian Premier League.
Vijay Mallya took to his official Twitter account to slam Virat Kohli-led RCB. Mallya wrote, “Always a great line up but sadly on paper only. Devastated with the wooden spoon.”

Vijay Mallya left India in March 2016, he was accused of money laundering and financial crimes. Indian government has requested for Mallya’s extradition from United Kingdom.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore has never won an Indian Premier League title since its inception in 2008. RCB finished at the bottom of the table this season as well. The team has qualified five times in the last 10 years and have always finished at second or third position whenever they make it to the play-offs.
In IPL 2019, Bangalore started poorly as they lost six games in a row. The team faced a lot of criticism in past for having a star studded line up but not showing enough character on the field. The team consists of some of the great players of modern day cricket like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali, Marcus Stoinis, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli holds the record of most number of runs in the IPL with 5,412 runs. Kohli is also the highest run scorer in a season when in 2016 he scored a record 973 runs from 16 games.
