India maintained their dominance over Sri Lanka and won the third and final T20 international match on 25th December by clinching the five-wicket win in a three-match series to clean sweep 3-0. Sri Lankan batsmen proved to be complete failure in front of India's quick and spin attack and scored 135 runs in seven wickets. Lanks's six batsmen reached double figures in which Asela Gunaratne top scored with only 36 runs. In the last moments, Dasun Shanaka played an unbeaten 29 runs.

India also struggled to score runs, but in the end 'men in blue' ended the hopes Sri Lanka for victory by hitting 139 runs in 19.2 overs at the cost of five wickets. For India, Manish Pandey (32 off 29 balls), Shreyas Iyer (30 off 32 balls) and captain Rohit Sharma (27 off 20 balls) proved to be crucial in the end. Dinesh Karthik (18 not out) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (unbeaten 16) finally reached the target for an unbroken partnership of 31 runs in 19 balls.

Sri Lanka struggled till the end to win the tour. India won the three-match series 1-0 and then one-day series 2-1. This is the seventh consecutive win of 'men in blue' against Sri Lanka in India's T20.

After the match, when the rest of the team India teamed up for the presentation, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen talking to some young players of Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Indian bowlers once again performed spectacularly to deny Sri Lanka for making a big score. Jaydev Unadkat and Pandya took two wickets each for India. Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
