A man from West Bengal’s Hooghly district died yesterday later in the evening. The man apparently suffered a heart attack after he was unable to bear MS Dhoni’s run-out. Srikant Maity, 33 fell unconscious at his cycle store on Sekenderpur immediately after watching the former India captain’s run-out.
According to local police, Maity was watching the match on his mobile phone and trembled and fell down in shock after MS Dhoni was declared run-out. The locals rushed him to a rural hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
India lost to New Zealand by 18 runs in the first semi-final of World Cup 2019. MS Dhoni was dismissed run-out at a crucial moment of the game. Dhoni was India’s last hope left on the ground as all other batsmen were dismissed. Dhoni hit a ball for six and played a dot-ball before he was run-out by Martin Guptill.
New Zealand became the first team in World Cup 2019 to reach the final. New Zealand will play a World Cup final for the second consecutive time. Meanwhile, in the second semi-final between Australia and England, the home team is looking good to qualify for the final as they are chasing 223 runs and haven’t lost a wicket so far. England is comfortably cruising at 100 without loss in 15 overs.
