New Zealand pace sensation Trent Boult has unveiled that the Kiwis gained “inspiration” from watching Pakistan beat India in the Champions Trophy final in 2017.
Trent Boult’s statement came after New Zealand win over the men in blue by 18 runs in their semi final match at Manchester, after which New Zealand booked their spot in the World Cup 2019 final.
Trent Boult claimed two crucial wickets in the match as he dismissed Indian skipper Virat Kohli for just one run before sending back set batsman Ravindra Jadeja to the pavilion for 77 runs at a decisive point where it seemed as if India could secure a come back win.
Pakistan suffered a 124 runs defeat to India through Duckworth-Lewis Stern method in the league stage of the Champions Trophy, but the Pakistani team completely bulldozed their arch-foes in the final by 180 runs.
Coming into this ICC World Cup 2019 team India were touted as favourites, just like they were coming into their semi final clash against New Zealand, Boult admitted that the Kiwis were inspired by the way in which Pakistan defeated India.

New Zealand will now face either Australia or the host England in the finals of the ICC World Cup 2019, depending on which team will emerge victorious in their semi final match at Edgbaston this afternoon.
