New Zealand paceman Tim Southee on Saturday got the better of Virat Kohli for the 6th time in ODIs (9th across formats) in Auckland, becoming the leading bowler to have dismissed the Indian skipper for the record number of times across formats.

Tim Southee went past England’s James Anderson and former spinner Graeme Swann on this list after dismissing Kohli in the second ODI.

The Indian skipper was batting on 15 when a Tim Southee delivery tricked him and struck the wickets. Virat Kohli’s wicket ensured that the Kiwis take control of the match after putting up 273/8 on Saturday.

Tim Southee and Virat Kohli share a professional relation since their Under-19 days, when the men in blue, led by Kohli, beat a New Zealand team, with Southee as the bowling spearhead, in the semi finals of the 2008 ICC U-19 World Cup.
