The men in blue displayed blazing all-round performance to beat South Africa by 137 runs in the second Test at the MCA stadium in Pune. With this victory, team India won the three match Test series, as a result, setting a new world record of most consecutive Test series win at the home turf.

India have now won 11 stright Test series on home soil to go past their joint record alongside Australia, who twice won 10 home series in succession, from 1994-2001 and 2004-2008.

Following the implementation of follow-on on South Africa, the visitors struggled and were eventually bundled out for 189 runs in the second innings with Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja scalping three wickets each.

The Proteas began the day on the back foot, losing Aiden Markram for duck on the second delivery of the day to Ishant Sharma. His opening partner Dean Elgar tried to hold the Indian bowling unit but was dismissed on 48 off Ravichandran Ashwin’s delivery.

The two heavyweights will now face eachother in the last Test, starting 19th October in Ranchi.
