Suresh Raina is one of the best fielder of modern day cricket and he is always pumped up on the ground to give his 110 per cent. Raina became the first player in Indian Premier League history to take 100 catches.
Raina who plays for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL achieved this wonderful feat during a match against Delhi Capitals at Chepauk stadium. Raina’s 100th victim was young Delhi Capitals’ opener Prithvi Shaw.
AB de Villiers is at number two on the list as he has 84 catches for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL followed by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma with 82 catches. Among the wicket-keepers, Dinesh Karthik is the only player to take more than 100 catches.
Raina is also one of the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League as in the first match of this season he became the first batsman to score 5,000 IPL runs. Raina has played 189 IPL matches and scored 5,291 runs at an average of 33.7. He made his IPL debut against Kings XI Punjab on 19 April, 2008.
Suresh Raina’s Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by 80 runs. Chennai Super Kings have already qualified for the play-offs. Suresh Raina is the second highest run scorer for Chennai Super Kings after MS Dhoni even though he ain’t having a great season.
