Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said that Shreyas Iyer of Delhi Capitals is a better captain than Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sanjay, an analyst and cricket commentator gave Iyer 8 out of 10, while Kohli got 6 out of 10 for his captaincy.
Shreyas Iyer led his team Delhi Capitals to their first play-offs since 2012 and won an eliminator for the first time. Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore finished at bottom of the points table losing eight out of the 14 matches they played.
Manjrekar gave Chennai Super Kings’ skipper MS Dhoni got 9 out 10 for his brilliant captaincy, while Indian Premier League 2019 winner Rohit Sharma got 8 out of 10 for leading Mumbai Indians. Ravichandran Ashwin got 7 out of 10 for being an excellent package as captain and player.
Bhuveneshwar Kumar and Kane Williamson got 7 out of 10 for leading Sunrisers Hyderabad. Manjrekar praised the Kiwi batsman for sacrificing his batting position for team’s betterment. Ajinkya Rahane got 5 out of 10 for leading Rajasthan Royals, while his replacement Steve Smith got 6 out of 10.
The Indian Premier League 2019 was won by Mumbai Indians as they defeated Chennai Super Kings by just 1 run in finals to clinch their fourth IPL title. Mumbai Indians also became the most successful team in the league’s history.
