Shakib Al Hasan registered an unbelievable record as he became the first player in the history of World Cup to score 500 plus runs and take 10 wickets in the same tournament. Shakib Al Hasan has 542 runs, only two runs less than Rohit Sharma, the highest run-scorer in the tournament.
Shakib Al Hasan has scored two centuries in the ongoing World Cup and scored his sixth half-century against India today, only Sachin Tendulkar has more 50 plus scores in a World Cup. Tendulkar scored seven 50 plus score in 2003 World Cup.
Earlier in the World Cup, Shakib Al Hasan became the first player from Bangladesh to score 1000 plus runs in World Cup.
With his new record, Shakib entered a list of elite players who scored more than 500 runs and also took 10 wickets in the same series.
