Sachin Tendulkar slams MS Dhoni for playing a slow inning against Afghanistan

Indian cricketer MS Dhoni faced a lot of criticism for play a slow inning against Afghanistan in India’s fifth World Cup match. MS Dhoni faced 52 deliveries and scored just 28 runs before he was stumped off Rashid Khan’s ball. MS Dhoni was stumped for the second time in his ODI career, the first time came against West Indies in 2011 World Cup.

Former cricketer and legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar was also among the critics who termed Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav’s innings as slow. Sachin said that he felt disappointed after watching Dhoni and Kedar as they could have been much better. Sachin was also not happy with the partnership between the duo as they scored just 119 runs from 34 overs.

India’s middle order was tested against Afghanistan’s quality spin as this was the first time Indian bowlers had to bat in the ongoing tournament. Indian batsmen were dismissed by spinners for the first time in this World Cup. India played a slow inning in the last ten overs whereas they scored heavily against quality teams like Australia and Pakistan.

Indian bowlers were the only positive in the match as Bumrah picked up two crucial wickets in the middle overs while Shami scalped 4 wickets from the 10 he bowled. Shami also became the second Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in a World Cup match after Chetan Sharma in 1987.
