The 32-year-old has cumulated 2,442 runs in all formats in 2019. The swashbuckling opener also went past Sri Lanka legend Sanath Jayasuriya’s 22-year-old milestone for most runs as an opener in a calender year across formats. He knocked 10 centuries across all formats of the game, five of which came in the quadrennial event.
Rohit Sharma will next be seen in action during the T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting 5th January.
