Indian opener Rohit Sharma surpassed skipper Virat Kohli to become the sole batsman with 25 scores in excess of 50 in T20I cricket.
The 32-year-old accomplished the record during the ongoing fifth T20I against New Zealand at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday. Rohit Sharma pulled off his 21st fifty in just 35 deliveries which included two sixes and three fours.

While Rohit has 21 fifties under his belt in the shortest format of the game, his four T20I hundred makes him the only batsman with 25 scores of 50 plus.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who has 24 fifties but no century in the shortest format, is second in the list.
In the match, skipper Virat Kohli was rested as Rohit Sharma came back for the fifth T20I to lead his side.
The men in blue won the toss and decided to bat but Sanju Samson failed once again on a good batting pitch. Rohit then joined KL Rahul in the middle and the duo knocked 88 runs for the second wicket.
Late flourish from Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey hepled team India put up a testing total of 163/3 in stipulated 20 overs.
