Rohit Sharma is having a great World Cup as he is looking in very good form batting at his usual number one position. Rohit Sharma has already scored three centuries in the ongoing World Cup, highest by any batsman in this tournament.
Sharma is on verge of breaking former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly’s record as he has already equalled it. Sharma has scored three centuries which is the joint highest by an Indian batsman in a World Cup. Sourav Ganguly had scored three centuries in 2003 World Cup.
Sharma’s three centuries came against South Africa (122*), Pakistan (140) and England (102). India is yet two play two more matches before the final phase of the tournament starts. India will face Bangladesh on July 2 and Sri Lanka on July 6.
India lost their first game of World Cup 2019 as England won the match by 31 runs. Jonny Bairstow of England scored a fantastic century after his captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first. Ben Stokes scored an explosive 79 off 54 balls to take England to 337 in 50 overs.
India lost the match despite a brilliant performance by Rohit Sharma. Skipper Virat Kohli also chipped in with his fifth half-century of this World Cup, while Hardik Pandya played his natural game to score a quick 45 runs.
